HomeMy WebLinkAboutbocc.min.reg.01091962January 9, 1962 The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, met at 10;00 o'clock AM, January 9, 192 with the following members present Chairman Samuel W. Howell; Commissioners Orest A. Gerbaz and T. J. Sardy; Peggy E. Coble, Clerk, absent having been exucsed. No old business appearing it was regularly motioned and moved that the Board adjourn Sine Die: The Board adjou;ned. Upon motion by Samuel Howell and seconded by T. J. Sardy, Orest A. gerbaz was aominated temporary chairman. Nominations were opened for permanent chairman with Samuel Howell nominating T. J. Sardy which nomination was seconded by Orest A. Gerbaz thereafter T. J. Sardy was elected permanent chairman and whereupon T. J. Sardy took the chair. Orest A. Gerbaz was nominated and elected vice-chairman. Robert Delaney was appointed County Attorney for the year 1962 or during the pleasure of the Board at a salary of $175.00 per month which additional compensation for additional meetings. Warren Conner was appointed as County Inventory Officer at a salary of $3.00 per hour. Dr. J. Sterling Baxter was appointed as County Health Officer and Physician for the year 1962. Bank of Aspen was named County depository for the year 1962 or during the pleasure of the Board. Milton Conner was appointed as Service Officer. The Aspen Times was named as the official newspaper for the County. John Snyder and Claude Crowley were appointed as road over-seers. Fred Zoller was appointed as Janitor for the Court House at a salary of $225.00 per month. R. H. Lester & Company of Aspen and Colorado Springs, Accountants, were named as County Auditors for the year 1962 or during the pleasure of the Board. month Helen Zordel was appointed as Deputy County Treasurer at a salary of $290.00 per }a~x; Marie Mason was appointed as Deputy County Clerk at a salary of $290.00 per Month; Charles W. Davis was appointed as Under-Sheriff at a salary of $200.00 per month. Peggy E. Coble was appointed as County Budget Officer at a salary of $75.00 per month The County road men salaries was set at $1.80 per hour for forty-eight hours (48) and overtime at M a 6 2 - __ -- atstraight time over forty-eight (48) hours. The salary of John Snyder was set at $410.00 per month. The :following resolution was upon motion duly seconded unanimously adopted: WHEREAS the periods of time for which the several members of the Board of Trustees of the Pitkin County Hospital were appointed have expired and it is deemed advisable to make appoinments to each of the positions of the Board of Trustees, defining with certainty the terms of office of each appointee, AND WHEREAS the memlaers of the Pitkin County Hospital Board of Trustees have contributed substanially toward the find hospital facilities and excellent hospital administration now existing in Pitkin County for which the Commissioners desire to express their commendation and the gratitude of the County, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board ofCounty Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, that there is hereby appointed a Board of Trustees for the Pitkin County Hospital with terms to commence on the 9th day of January 1962, the persons with the terms as follows: Name Term Fierman Arbaney One Year Donald Elisha Two Years Barbara Isakson Three Years Hod ~. Stewart Five Years BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners does hereby express it appreciation and commendation to the Hospital Board ofTrustees for their substantial contribution to the fine hospital program in Pitkin County.
