` The Board of County Comttfisaionera of Pitkin Count, Colorado met at 10:00 A. M.
ITuesda~ September 19~ 1939 with the fo llowing members present: Orest A. ~=erba~, Chairman;

The minutes of the meetings of said Board of County Commissioners of September 5, 1939
viand of the Board of Equalization of Sept. 5, 6 & 7, 1939, were read and approved. Also the
'minutes of the Board of County Commissioners of Sept. 12, 1938.
'The matter of the payment of witness fees 'which was tabled on `Sept. 5, was again tabled.
`The matter of signing the Acceptances fo Liberty Trucks and Piarts Co., was r®-tabled also.
The following resoltltlon passed by the C y Council of Aspen wgs presented and ordered

" 'VlHEREAS, a certain percent oP the State tax o sales of gasolgne is, allocated to
Aspen for upkeep and maintenance of State Highway No. 82 within our city limits;
~,I'"WHEREAS, such funds thus allocated and paid to the Treasurer of Pitkin County, by

"WHEREAS, Pitkin County has recently succeeded in raising ffinndN'for the purpose of oiling High•
way No. 82 from our City to the County line near Basalt, including•that part of the Highway
'within our City limits in a'satiafactory manner;
^NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY BOARD OF ALi~RM'EN OF CITY OF ASPEN, THAT IN CONSIDERATION of
the continuance of mai ntaining Highway 82, in a sactisfactory manner to our citizens who travel
on it, by making needed repairs promptly to thus maintain it; and with the understanding that
whenever a surplus may accumulate in the fund in sufficient amount to ~uatify, that such sur-
plus above ordinary maintenance costa, shall be used to widen said oil surfaced part of Highwa;
82 from curb to curb, between the corners of Monarch and Main streets, and corners of Galena
and Cooper Avenue,
i^BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Treasurer of Pitkin County is hereby authorized to continue ;
payment of said gasolAne tax funds to Pitkin County in accordance with this resolution until'
further notice fra¢n this Board for cause.

The Following offers for taxsale certificates were received and tabled:
10.00 on Lot$ A & B in Block 77, Aspen
5.00 on Lot 0 in Block 38, Aspen
A summons from the District Court in the matter of quieting title to Castle Forks Placer
served on the Board through the Clerk was presented and filed.
Notice of hearing before the Public Utilities Commission in the Matter of the purchase and
extension of property and distribution of electric power by Mountain Utilities Corporation
was presented. The clerk wsa instructed to inform the P U C that such mat with their approval.

Mr. Grohar asked for a reduction of taxes but his request was not granted slnee the Aasesso:
