The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, met at 8;30 AM,
January 12, 1960, with.the following members present: T, J, Sardy, Chairman; Orest Gerbaz,
Commissioner and Samuel Howell, Commissioner; Peggy E. Coble, Clerk.
Minutes of the meeting; of December 31, 198 and January 4, 1960 were read and
approved.
No old business appearing it was regularly motioned and moved that the Board adjot
Sine Die: ,
The Board adjourned.
Upon motion by Orest 'Gerbaz and seconded by Samuel Howell #~St# T. J. Sardy was
nominated temporary chairman and he was unanimously elected,
Nominations were opened for permanent chairman with Samuel Howell nominating Orest
Gerbaz, nomination seconded by T, J.Sardy and Orest Gerbaz was elected permanent chairman
and Samuel Howell, Vice Chairman whereupon Commissioner Gerbaz took the chair.

The following were appointed as members of the Planning and Zoning ommission
Board with term of ofifice to be set forth at a later date:
Fred Glidden ) Sam Caudill

Frederic Benedict )
Dr, Virgi3 A, Gould was appointed as a member of the Board of Adjustment to
fill the vacancy created by the resi~ation of Anthony Kastelic,
John Snyder was appointed as Road Overseer, Claude Crowley was appointed
as Road Overseer in the Frying Pan Area.
Dunham, L~san and Stephenson, Certified Public Accountants of Denver, Colora
were appointed as County Auditors for the year 1960 or at the pleasure of the Board,
The following Deputies were appointed at no change in salary IIoise Ilgen,
Deputy County Clerk & Recorder; Helen Zordel, Deputy County Treasurer; Dorothy Mikkelsen,
Deputy County Assessor at a Salary of X275.00 per month.
Wm, C, Stapleton was appointed Budget Officer for the year 1960 at a salary
to be set forth at a later date.
Fred Zoller was appointed as Janitor for the Court house at the same salary.
The Aspen Times was designated as the offical newspaper for County Publica-
tions.
..Milton Conner was appointed as Service Officer and Probation Officer for the
year 1960,
There being no further business the Board adjourned to meet January 20, 1960.
