At a Special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, held
at I: 45 PM, with thl~ following members present: Chairman Orest A. Gerbaz; Commissioners
T. J, Sardy and Samuel Howell; Peggy E, ~ob3:e, Clerk, the follv®ring resolution was upon
motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS, by Resolution dated Ja7uary 29, 1960, of the several Boards of County
Commissioners acting through the Colorado State Association of County Commissioners, was
approved by the Director of Revenue for the State of Colorado, wherein it was agreed that t
State would return the responsibilities ender the driver's license program to the Counties,
and
WHEREAS, This board is of the opinion that the r eturn of the driver's license
program should be effected as soon as an orderly transfer of these responsibilities can be
accomplished,
NOM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin
County, Colorado, as follows:
1. Pitkin County is now ready, willing and able to ass tune the rssponaibilit~es
of the driver's license program without the use of Department of Revenue personnel.
2.- Pitkin County wiahes to hereby notify the Director of Revenue for the State
of Colorado and make demand for the Tetuan of the driver's ltlcense program to the County
forthwith.
3. Pitkin County has sufficient funds available together with the necessary
personnel for the efficient and proper handling of this Ir ogram.
4. A copy of this resolution be sent to the Governor of the State of Colorado
and the Director of Revenue for the State of Colorado so that an orderly transfer of respo~
bilities S3ur_the driver's license program may be made to the County of Pitkin.
There being no further business the Board ad3ourned to meet March 7, 1960 at
