A, Gerbaz; Commissioners, T. J. Sardy and Samuel W. Howell; eggy E. Coti le, County Clerk; Robert Delaney, County Attorney, Bills. were audited approved and ordered paid from the Various Welfare Funds as follows: - OLD AGE PENSION F1DID: $5,641.50 PUBLIC WELFARE FUPB): $1,844.63 HOSPITAL FUND: $1,124.08 Mr. William. Stapleton appeared before the Commiaiionera recoa®ending a revision on the County's nsurance program, and after extensive diacusaion, it was determined that [he recommended program should be pproved, with the exc lusion of coverage on products, false arrests, and personal injury. Mra. Pearl Ma2tebarger appeared before ;the Commiasionersto protest certain matters concerning roperty taxes and it was recommended that she contact the County Assessor and discuss the matter with him, and f .unable to arrive at any solution, then that she ;might present proper petition to the Co®iaeioners. Mr. .F. W, Anderson, a member of the Ci[y Council of. Aspen, appeared os behAlf of the City to discuss be matter of dumping trash and refuse along the Roaring Fork.River east of .Aspen and after diacusaion, it was greed tljat the County would cooperate in enforcing the law against such dump iu6. and would authorize the post- ~ ~ ng of appropriate signs in affected areas. G Mr. Fred Glidden appeared before the Commissioners concerning the matter of cone trotting a new ibrary for the Aspen Coamwaity and advised that he,Ijr.. William -Bield and others desire to create adonative and in the. Office of the Pitkin County Treasurer for the purpose of making plans, preparations ;and develop- ag a new library, and cone tructfon-and equipmentfor the same, together with the appointment of repreaentativea n a committee to~proceed with such programs. Tk[e.County. Attorney. was authorized to proceed with [he - r~- reparation of an appropriate resolution neon conferringwith Mr. Glidden and others to accomplish. the purposes eaixed insofar as the County is concerned. Mrs. Pat Maddalone appeared before the commissioners to discuss the matter of clewing and stacking rick being (removed from.,the PitkinCounty Hoapitalatructure and auggeated that-the brick being-removed from . J he old hospital be carefully cleaned and stored for future paeor sale. Such recommendation was approved by .. he Commissioners. The Commissioners unanimously voted to express their commendation and appreciation to Mr. G. E. chanan, County-Surveyor and County. Engineer, for his work performed in connection with the road and highway rogram ox the County. Mra.Sue Brennan appeared before the Commissioners-and upon. request was authorized to publish notice f hearing on application for liquor license to be held on September 6, 1960. .The.petition of Mra.. They were dvised that Cammisaionerscould not in the future give conaideratio¢~-to ~acceptingMagnifico~road ea a public tree[ unless 'the road were of.~adequate width and unless an adequate turnaround were provided.
