The Board of.COUnty Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, metat. 10:00 AM, with the following
present: Chairman, Ores[ A. Gerbaz; Commisaionera T. J. Sardy and Samuel W. Howell; Robert Delaney, County
Attorney; Peggy H. Coble, Clerk.
Bills were audited, approved and ordered paid from the various Funds as follows:
ORDINARY FUND: $9,056.47 (Includes Dec. 1960 Salaries)
ROAD fi BRIDGE FUND: $8,310.28 (Includes Dec. 1960 Salaries)
COUNTY CLERK'S CLEARING FUND: $986.72
The matter of an additional member to be appointed to the County Television Committee was discussed,
and thereafter. on motion of Commissioner Howell, seconded byCOmmiasioner Sardy, Mr. Walter Wieben be appointe~
as a third member°of the County Television Committee.
Mr. D.R.C. Brown and Mra. Hlli Bealmear appeared before the Commissioners and advised that the Aspen
Ctiamber `Qf Commerce was interested in a program of attempting to arrange national advertiaingfor Aspen as aad
for•~rthe"Aspen Community. in the Holiday and Sunset magazines, on the basis that it would be necessary that
$3,000.00 be raised within a few days, otherwise the advertising would not occur. The Commissioners authorize
a commitment for $250.00 as a contribution to the Aspen Chambet.of Commerce for .this advertising in the same

Mr. George Morrison of Porto~Mix. Concrete Company. presented a verified .statement against Lester
iuldflng onaccoont of concrete furnished in connection with. theSpaulding.contract forimprovementaon the
in House and was advised that under. the Statutes, the balance-.of rmmeys owing would be withheld for aperiod
six weeks, within which claim could be processed against the contractor. It was suggested that if possible

Mr. Wiliiam Antonides appeared before the. Coamissioners requesting and oiland gas lease on the
inry. r8ad leading from Woody Creek to Snowmass, He offered $1.00 per acre per year. Inquiry was made

-way, and Mr. Antonides advised that no such investigationhad been made. He was thereupon advised that the
~nty would ;not enter into any leasing. arrangment that would result in structuresbeing placed upon the .

pearedthat the ladk of a lease from the County was likely to prevent drilling, then the Commissioners would
sin consider the matter upon hearing from Mr. Antonides.
A.coamunication was received from Mr. Loyd Bruce of the U. S. Grazing Service, Grand Junction, Colo-
io, requesting that the County Coamiseionera remit the sum of $200.00 from grazing fees paid into the
unty Treasury. The County Attorney advised that he.had been unable tgg find any. authority under the law
r the Commissioners to make disbursement in the manner requested, and'JWas thereforedirected that the County
torney correspondwith Mr. Bruce concerning the matter.
Petitions of John Doreams, representing various property owners and residents of the area where Arthu
