PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO APPOINTING A HEARING OFFICER
PURSUANT TO THE PITKIN COUNTY LAND USE CODE SECTION 7-10-050

1. Pursuant to the Pitkin County Land Use Code, Section 7-10-050 (D), there
shall be established within the Planning Office, the position of a hearing officer. The
Board of County Commissioners shall appoint the hearing officer to serve at its
discretion.
2. The powers, duties and decisions of the hearing officer are defined in
Section 7-10-050 (D) 3 and 4 of the Code.
3. The Board of County Commissioners wishes to appoint James R. True, a
practicing attorney in Aspen, as hearing officer for Pitkin County. Mr. True is currently
serving as the Airport Hearing Officer, the Personnel Review Board Hearing Officer and
is familiar with the Pitkin County Land Use Code. There appears to be no conflict of
interest with Mr. True's appointment as he does not regularly appear before the BOCC.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Board of County Commissioners
hereby appoints James R. True for the position of Hearing Officer for Pitkin County.
