HomeMy WebLinkAboutbocc.res.127.2008A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COLTNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COLJNTY, COLORADO, APPROVING CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS PLAN (COOP) Resolution # /~rJ - 2008 RECITALS The necessity for a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) for Pitkin County has been identified by County Administration. 2. A Continuity of Operations Plan is a document that identifies critical functions, carried out by Pitkin County that must be restored in less than 12 hours after any catastrophic event (such as a fire, flood, or explosion) that affects County facilities and staff. 3. Pitkin County, as a member of the ten-county Northwest All Hazards Emergency Management Region (NWAHEMR), received a Homeland Security grant in 2007 to fund a COOP at the level of county government. 4. After a competitive bid and selection process, a consultant was contracted to write a COOP for each of the ten counties. One yeaz of maintenance of the plans was included in the contract. 5. Pitkin County's COOP was completed in 2008 and approved by the Leadership and Management Teams in October and November, 2008. 6. A complete copy of Pitkin County's COOP is on file with the Clerk and Recorder. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of CounTy Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, that the Board of County Commissioners accepts the Pitkin County Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), dated November 20, 2008. APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON THE Sth DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2008.
