OF UTILITIES WITHIN THE RURAL/REMOTE ZONE DISTRICT

RECITALS
1. John Matthews ("Applicant')has applied to the Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners
("BOCC")for Special Review approval to extend electric service approximately 700 feet to an existing
cabin within the Rural/Remote zone district
2. The property is located on Lower Hurricane Road off of Little Annie Road, and is described as the
Globe Lode, USMS 6987.
3. The parcel is zoned Rural/Remote and contains approximately 8.6 acres.
4. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial of the request on February 6, 2001
by a vote of 4-1.
5. The BOCC finds that the proposed extension will diminish the character of the area and does not
comply with the intent of the Rural/Remote zone district.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the BOCC that it does hereby deny the Matthews
Special Review to extend utilities within the Rural/Remote zone district
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PUBLISHED in The Aspen Times Weekly on the 101h day of
March, 2001.
DENIED on the I Ph day of April,2001.
