Ladies and Gentlemen:
As a neighboring property owner, Snowmass Corporation has
received notice of Ralph Melville's height variance request
...~ ..>. .g.. _ s
to add two more floors to the southeast win of the Snowmas,
Mountain Chalet.
Snowmass Corporation has no objection to granting of the
requested variance and encourage that it be granted. You
perhaps will recall that the original plat of the Snowmass
Mountain Chalet site contained an envelope for an expansion
on the ngrthwest. Melville then requested that this be
ncroachment into
shifted to the northeastk„side to avoid e
the heavily treed'buff'er ions"'on the west side. T}is request
was granted by the county but only~two stories of the wing
plus employee housing was completed. As a result the roof
lines do not match and the existing east wing looks unfinished.
Completion would improve the appearance of the structure and,,
in our judgement, not impair any views or significantly dis-
turb existing sun angles.
