ss. AGREEMENT FOR LEASE OF BUSES
STATE OF COLORADO )
THIS AGREEMENT made this 12th day of December, 1973,
by and between the COUNTY OF PITKIN, acting by and through its
Board of Commissioners, hereinafter called "County" and SAN JUAN
TOURS, Inc., a Colorado corporation, hereinafter called "lessor."
WITNESSETH:
1. The lease term will be from December 17, 1973,
to December 31, 1973, inclusive, for service between Glenwood
Springs, Colorado, and Aspen/Snowmass-at-Aspen, Colorado.
2. The lessor will provide three (3) buses, each with
a passenger seating capacity of thirty-nine (39) persons maximum
and standing capacity of ten (10) persons.
3. The rate to be charged by the lessor will be $81.90
for each daily roundtrip between Glenwood Springs and Aspen/
Snowmass-at-Aspen; and $39.00 for each daily roundtrip between
Basalt and Aspen/Snowmass-at-Aspen.
4. There shall be no passenger charges during the
period of this agreement; however, the driver shall disperse
and collect from each rider a questionnaire provided by the County.
5. The Lessor shall bill the County not later than
January 1, 197. The County shall pay the lessor at its Aspen
office on the 15th day of January, 197~I, or as soon thereafter
as possible.
6. The lessor assumes all responsibility for necessary
filings with the P.U.C. Lessor will supply and assume the cost
of drivers, insurance, maintenance and repair, fuel, and all
other expenses of operating the three buses as above provided for.
Lessor shall be construed as strictly a contract carrier for
hire, Lessor shall assume all responsibility.
7. The bus route, schedule and hours of service shall
be determined by the County Manager. All buses will transport
passengers and whatever equipment (ski or otherwise), baggage
or parcels they may be carrying.

Gentlemen:
This letter extends the Agreement of December 12, 1973,
between the County of Pitkin and San Juan Tours, Inc., through
January 31, 1974.
It amends the Agreement to provide that drivers will
punch tickets and require tickets of all passengers beginning
January 2, 1974.
Tickets will be presented and sold by the County.
