I did get you phone message, but was out of range. I need to review you old septic permit again since it has been a while. The regulations allow the owner/builder to design there own septic: tank size, and absorption field size and type. The size of the system is based on the Number of bedrooms/potential bedrooms (rooms that at some time maybe used by someone as a bedroom because that has access to a 3/4 or full bathroom. The size of the field is also based on the percolation rate of the soil. the regulations do NOT allow an owner/builder to perform there own soil testing. The regulations state that this soil data must be performed under the supervision of an RPE (Registered Professional Engineer), page 21, Article 5-5. It goes on to say that we could allow test previously performed by an RPE. Attide 5-1 requires that the soil test are required in the area where the absorption system is to be located, uniformly space over the proposed are, and at least one test hole in every 1200 sq ft of the absorption system. So I'll need to review the soil data we have on your lot. I'll do that tomorrow sometime and give you a call.
