I left you a message but I'm sitting in Ellen's office, so I thought I'd email (easier to track me down!) Anyway per Jere Long (Aspen Productions) they have been working with Rick Dean @ T Lazy 7, who is of the opinion that they will have no difficulties in towing the truck up Maroon Bells Rd as it is hard packed and flat. I spoke to Lance about the site visit. He and Mike (and I know you & I) have concerns about the use of the closed road, the impact on the recreational uses in the area etc. Lance asked why we would allow the use of the road (even with a snow cat) when it has been closed for the winter. He has suggested allowing them to use the road for % mile past the gate, but not beyond and not at the Lake. If you still think a site visit is warranted, I will set it up and let the Applicant's know that we will be charging them for the additional time. I know you have plenty of other stuff going on so please let me know when you are able. Usually the Maroon Creek Road projects fall through in the spring though when they getup there to take a close look at what they are up against; however I am willing to go up and work with them. Pitkin County does not permit the use of helicopters for filming purposed, per the Board of County Commissioners and the County Attorney. So it is a 'no' for the helicopter. Also, I spoke with G. Not only is it closed to traffic, it is VERY inaccessible, as the road is covered by large amounts of snow (and T-Lazy 7 actually piles more snow up to keep folks out). Have you been up there recently? Are you certain you can access the areas you are thinking of? The County just wants to be certain Aero Films understands the limitations of the road (the County cannot plow it out, etc).
