CALL TO ORDER: Chairman George Newman called the Board of County Commissioners special meeting to order at 1:00 PM. COUNTY COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT: George Newman, Jack Hatfield, Michael Owsley, and Rachel Richards. COMMISSION MEMBERS ABSENT: Patti Kay-Clapper was absent. Commissioner Hatfield moved to convene a special meeting. Commissioner Owsley seconded the motion. Motion passed with 4 yea votes with Commissioner Kay-Clapper not present. PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES FOR PETER R. BELSKY – MOTION TO CONTINUE TO THE NEXT AVAILABLE MEETING – STAFF PERSON: LARRY FITE, ASSESSOR’S OFFICE Commissioner Hatfield moved to continue this matter to the next available meeting. Commissioner Owsley seconded the motion. Motion passed with four yea votes with Commissioner Kay-Clapper not present. RESOLUTION DENYING A PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES FOR JOHN C. HUMPHREY – MOTION TO UPHOLD THE ASSESSOR’S RECOMMENDATION AND DENY THE ABATEMENT STAFF PERSON: LARRY FITE, ASSESSOR’S OFFICE Commissioner Owsley moved to uphold the Assessor’s recommendation and deny the petition for abatement. Commissioner Hatfield seconded the motion. Motion passed with four yea votes with Commissioner Kay-Clapper not present. 1 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 18, 2010 RESOLUTION APPROVING A PARTIAL ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES FOR MARK PRIMANI - STAFF PERSON: LARRY FITE, ASSESSOR’S OFFICE Commissioner Richards disclosed that she lives in the Hunter Creek employee housing complex, but it will not affect how she votes on this petition. Mr. Priminai participated in this hearing via conference call. Commissioner Owsley moved to approve a partial abatement by reducing the property value on Mr. Priminai’s parcel to $660,000. Commissioner Richards seconded the motion. Motion passed with four yea votes with Commissioner Kay-Clapper not present. RESOLUTION DENYING A PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES FOR ALI-REEZA RASTEGAR - MOTION TO UPHOLD THE ASSESSOR’S DETERMINATION AND DENY THE ABATEMENT PETITION - STAFF PERSON: LARRY FITE, ASSESSOR’S OFFICE RESOLUTION DENYING A PETITION FOR ABATEMENT OR REFUND OF TAXES FOR TRIGAR INVESTMENTS, INC. - MOTION TO UPHOLD THE ASSESSOR’S DETERMINATION AND DENY THE ABATEMENT PETITION - STAFF PERSON: LARRY FITE, ASSESSOR’S OFFICE Commissioner Richards moved to uphold the Assessor’s determination on the Rsstegar and the Trigar Investments, Inc. and deny the petitions. Commissioner Owsley seconded the motion.
