The Cbunty's obligation under the Workers''Compensation Statute requires Pitk#n County and you to formalize the terms of this engagement in a notarized writing. The work to be performed under this agreement is: ` 1) A review of Pitkin County's Intergovermental Agreement (IGA) with the City of Aspen for the Management of the Joint Information Systems Department 2) A review of the GIT'Y OF ASPEN/PITKIN COiJNTY JOINT IS DEPARTMENT MANAGERS AGREEMENT'and attachments 3) Recommendations to the document to better insure appropriate levels of service provided to the County by the joint IT departrnent to the County 4) Other related tasks that arise as a part of the above reviews as discussed in ow meeting on October 20, 2010. The agreed upon fee for yow service will be at a rate of $125 per hout not tQ exceed I S hows of work or a total of $1875. 1 would expect to be invoiced for your services at the completion of the work. A W-9 document will need to be submitted with the invoice (attachea). It is mutually agreed that the County does not have an exclusive right to your services and it is contemplated that you may provide similar work to other businesses, governments and non-�rofit organizations. You acknowledge that the work performad for Pitkin County will be that of an independent contractor and that no employ�e-employer relationship is created. � 1 Pitkin County, 530 E. The County representalive signing this letter is avail�ble to you to discuss any details related to this engagement. This letter of engagement will terminate' on December 31, 2010 and will require a new document in succeeding years to be effective. You acknowledge and ag�ee t6at you ahall not be entitled to workers' compensation benefits in coanection.with t�►is project and that you s6a11 be responsible for the payment of all state and federal income taxes. IlleQal Aliens — Public Contracts for Servicea In conformance with the provisions of C.R.S. § 8-17.5-101 and 102, as amended; Contractor ghall not knowingly employ or contract with an illegal alien to perform work under the public contract for services. 2. ContraCtor shall not enter into a contract with a subcontractor that fails to certify to the contractor that the subcontractor shall not knowingly employ or contract with an illegal alien to perfor[h work under the public contract for services. Contractor has confirmed the empbyment eligibility of all employees who are newly hired for employment to perform work under the public contract for services tt�rough pazGCipation in either the E-Verify Pmgram or the Department Program. 4. Contractor shall not use either the E-Verify Program or the Depaztrnent Program procedures to undertake pre-employment screening of job applicants while the public contxact for services is being performed. Should Contractor obtain acttaal knowledge that a su}�contraptbr performing work under the public contract for services knowingly employs or contracts with an illegal alien, Conttactor shall be required to: , (a) Notify the subcontractor and the County within three days � that the contractor has actual knowledge that the subcontractor is employing or contracting with an illegal alien; (b) Ternvnate the subcontract with the subcontractor if within three days of receiving the required notice the subcontiactor does not stop employing or conhacting with Uae illegal alien; except thaf the contractor shall not terminate the conhact.with the subconh�actor if the subcontractor provides information to establish that the subcontractor has not knowingly employed or contracted with an illegal alien; 6. Contractor shall comply with any reasonable request by the department made in the course of an investigation that the deparkment is undertaking pursuant to C.R.S.8-17.5-102(5). Pitkin County, 530 E.
