RESOLUTION C)05—jer,/
WHEREAS, the condition of the
runway at Sardy field makes the re-
surfacing thereof necessary, and
WHEREAS, it will be neces-
sary to close said runway during the re-
surfacing operation commencing July
19, 1971, and
WHEREAS, the duration of the
closure of said runway will be a period
of approximately two weeks, and
WHEREAS, it is highly un-
desirable that scheduled air service be-
tween Denver and Aspen be interrupted
during said period, and
WHEREAS, it is the under-
standing of the Board of County Com-
missioners of Pitkin County that the
300 Series Otter aircraft, operated by
Rocky Mountain Airways, Inc., can
maintain its scheduled air service with -
in the requirements of applicable safe-
ty regulations by using t taxiway ad-
jacent to said runway.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it re-
solved by the Board of County Commiss-
ioners of Pitkin County that during the
period of closure of the Sardy Field
runway for resurfacing, the scheduled air
service of Rocky Mountain Airways, Inc.
utilizing the 300 Series Otter air-
craft may be continued by using the
q 7 S taxiway adjacent to said runway for land -
in and takeoff, provided that approval
of said temporary operation is given by
the Federal Aviation Administration.
