State Social Services was present to discuss
the status of the Pitkin County Welfare Director.
Pat Aman, Visiting Nurse, representing the Visit-
ing Nurses Association was present to request
funds to help a girl in trouble. The Board in-
formed her that they would consider her re-
quest and advise her when a decision had been
made.
Bob Short of Touche Ross and Company pre-
sented a report on the status of the new A.D.P.
system. He also reported on property tax and
re- evaluation and map parcelling.
Herb Bartel, City - County Planner informed
the Board that he is to get an extension on the
Emma gravel pit. He gave a report on the Aspen-
Wildcat zoning.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board
ratified the action of the Pitkin County Planning
and Zoning Commission in adopting the following
resolution:

WHEREAS, flood control standards

should be practiced to promote orderly
development along the Roaring Fork River
and its tributaries, and
WHEREAS, new construction along
the Roaring Fork River and its tri-
butaries has occurred to such an extent
that it is essential to designate the
limits of the natural drainage courses
to protect the health, safety and wel-
l*► fare of the residents of the area, and
WHEREAS, Pitkin County has the
authority to adopt regulations for
the purpose of avoiding hazards to per-
sons and property from flooding and the
authority to protect the natural drainage
courses of the area;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that
the Corps of Engineers is hereby re-
quested to conduct a Flood Plain Study
of the Roaring Fork River and its tri-
butaries to determine the limits of
,61"0")eb 4- natural drainage courses subject to
pp development pressures, and the Colo -
fT P rado Conservation Board is hereby re-
—197/ quested to designate a high priority
for conducting said study.
Mr. Roland Fisher of the Colorado River
Water Conservation District gave a report of
the activities of the District.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the
- Board unanimously approved a burning variance
for Aspen Highlands for a total of four (4)
months.

Lamont Kinkade, City- County Sanitarian
was present and discussed the activities of his
department. He informed the Board that he had
approved a sanitary and waste disposal system for
the Brown Trailer Court near Basalt.
Mr. Hal Clark, Pitkin County Building Inspect-
or was present to report the activities of his
department.
