Bldg. Inspector Pitkin County Courthouse Aspen, CO. 81611 Dear Mrs. Newberry; l f i February 24,1981 Pursuant to a request of Mr. Joseph E. Weinreis, I submit the following information to you about a tract of land containing 2.15 acres of land in Sect. 34, T 8 So. 86 W. 6th P.M. recently deeded to Mr. Weinreis. In 1969 I made a request to the LDS Church for acceptance of an approximate 3 acre tract of land, next to the above mentioned tract, one ha$f of which was to be a con- tribution for tithing to the Church and one -half was to be credited to the Aspen Branch of the Church for credit for them to have towards building of a Church in the Aspen area. At that approximate time I requested a discription of same from Scarrow S Walker, and some time later I received a discription for exactly 3 acres. At that time the front part of that 3 acres was still titled in the name of the Ed Redmond estate and the back part was unencumbered and came from the Smith conveyance. I was unable to at that time get a partial release from Orvall Redmond for thatfront part of the parcel with out a full payout, which I could not do until later. When I finally got Redomnd paid out, he was reserving a one acre tract with the house on it and Scarrow found an error in the discription of it as well as the 3 acre tract. Through some laborous months we finally got those two discriptions corrected and it resulted in the current 3.07 acre discription which was finally recorded into the Churches name in October 19781 Notwithstanding this late recording which I explained to the Comissioners that fall, I had made the request to the Church some years earlie and had actually taken the tithing credit earlier. Also during that long delay the local Branch of the Church had built and now needs the credit with the SLC office to complete their obligation on the local building. The above detail isolated Weinreis' tract. If you wish I can have an attorney from the Church supply you more detail.
