Colorado. Upon motion the said offer was accepted and the Treasurer uthorized and directed to transfer and assign said oertifioate for said sum. The offer in the sum of 4225.00 was made for the tax sale certificate and the taxes up to - including 1926 on Lots D and E, Block 30; on Lots F and G, Block, 30, City of Aspen. Upon i tt =4 notion the said offer was saoepted and the Treasurer authorized and direoted to transfer and -align said oertifioate for said sum. Because of erroneous assessment of Jesse Siaton Homestead Entry, for the year 1928 at a = luation of 410.15 for the land, and $200.00 for improvements, taxes thereon amounting to I • :35.92`; said land being of no pinizitts value agriculturally, and there being no water thereon, said Homestead oil no possible profit more than grading; the Assessor is advised and instructed to reduce the valuation to 607 dollars and so oertify to the County Treasurer who shall collets thereon the sum of 417.96 and receipt for 1928 taxes in tall. In the matter of the petitions of W.E. Stapleton to the Tax Commission of Colorado for re- fund of $250.I0 of overpaid taxes in the year 1926 and for aoatement of to the amount of .234.46 inthe year 1927; both claims allowed by the Tax Commission on that part of the property nown as the Glendale Ranoh, which was purohased by Stapleton. The following were present: True A.Smith, G.B.Brown, Louis Vagneur, amp Clerk Mary Manna. Minutes of the former meeting read 4Vid approved. Being the first meeting or the year 1929, the Board proceeded with its reorganization. Nominations were in order for Chairman o the Board of Commissioners. The nomination of Mr. Smith was made by Mr. Vagneur and seoonded by Mr. Brown. Mr.'Smith was unanimously elected. Robert S.Killey recommended LSr. Clarence Johnson to serve as his deputy for the year, subjeot to to the approval of the Board. Upon motion the said appointment was approved and has salary fixed st- 480.00 per month. j County Clerk Mary McKenna recommended Lillian Leaver to serve as her deputy for the year subject to the approval of the Board. Upon motion the said appojntment was approved arts her salary fixed at 480.00 per month. Paul Caley, County Assessor, recommended Mrs. H.B. Burch to act as his deputy for the ensu e_ year subjeot to the approval of the Board. Upon motion the said appointment was approved and her salary fixed at 480.00 per month. G.B. Brown nominated D. Sieverling to act as janitor for the Courthouse. There was no second to the nomination. Mr. Milton Donner was nominated by Mr, Vagneur and Mr. Smith sea - onded the nomination. %fir. Conner was appointed to act as janitor for the ensuing year at a salary of 480.00 per month. Mr. J.H. Nicholson recommended the appointment of J.M.Conner as deputy sheriff for the en-- suing year subjeot to the approval of the Board. Upon motion the said appointment was approved and Mr. Conner was appointed to act as deputy sheriff and jailer. • J. W. Deane was continued as County Attorney for the ensuing year at' > a salary of 450.00 a moljth. W.H. Twining was nominated and unanimounsly elected to serve as County Physician for the ' ensuing year at a salary of 450.00 a month. the bills of the G.F. Heckel B.B.& L. Co. and the Out West Printing ec Stationery Co. were ' in response to the advertisement for bids for stationery and supplies for the year 1929 and were opMned by the Board..
