The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, met at 4:00 P. M. Saturday
March 8, 1941, with the following members present: Crest A. Gerbaz, Chairman; George W. Smitr,
Commissioner; Boyd R. King, Commissioner; M. M. Neihardt, Clerk.
Mr. Ralph L. McKee, the Auditor of the County records was present and made his report of
the Audit of the books and other matters for the period July 1, 1940 to December 31, 1940.
Mr. McKee made the following recommendations:
1) That the Board should (and MUST) retrench since the registered warrant indebtedness
is much too groat.
2) That the Board should inform the County Judge that hl uncollected fees must be col—
lected at once or the same taken out of his salary.
3) That the Board should demand payment from the County Sheriff of amounts charged duri g
the year on County Phone bills for telephone messages from the Sheriff to his wife in Denver
He also advised that the Telephone Company, if requested in writing by the Board) would
furnish a list of phone calls made on that phone during 1940.
4) That at each meeting (regular) the Board should have from the Treasurer a statment
of balances and registered warrants in each fund.
