OCTOBER 6, 1941.
The Board of U6unty Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, met at 10:00 A. M. Monday
October 6, 1941, with the following members present: Orest A. Gerbaz, Chairman; George W.
Smith, Commissioner; Boyd R. King, Commissioner; M. M. Neihardt, Clerk.
The minutes of the meeting of the Bopard of County Commissioners and of the Pitkin County
Board of Equalization held September it and 17, 1941, were read and approved.
The following offers for tax sale certificates and taxes up to and including 1939 were ,
acce ted, contingent upon purchasers paying 1940 taxes in full :
36.57 on Cert. At 32 12/11/37 on Lots H & I, Block 35, Aspen (Theo Cooper)
6.00 on Cert. 94 12/18/25 on Lot I & Et Lot H Block 60, Aspen (S, Chisholm)
6.00 on Lot H Block 80 Cert No. 654 10/3/93 (Garlington)
15.00 on Cert 162 12/24/26 on Lots K & L, Block 66, Aspen . (Bray)
.The offer of $50.00 on improvements and personal property on Golden Age Mining Claim in
Lincoln Gulch Mining District was rejected.
The offer of $100.00 on Cert 58 12/29/22.on Lots N & 0, Block 34 was again tabled.
The following offers for tax sale certificates and taxes up to and including 1939 were
received and ordered published:
1 5.00 on Cert 50, Lot 0, Block 53, Aspen _
10.00 on taxis Lots A & B, Block 50, Aspen
The report of the County Clerk for the month of September was approved.
The reports of the County Judge and Clerk of the District Court for September wefire reeei :d.
The following resolution was presented, considered and unanimously adopted:
RESOLUTION
B$ IT RESOLVED, That the County of Pitkin take such steps as are necessary to secure title
by Tax Deed to the following described Lots in the City of Aspen, Pitkin County, Colorado to wit:
ALL THE LOTS CONTAINED IN BLOCK 67, CITY AND TOWNSITE OF ASPEN
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the_County Clerk & County Treasurer of this County be authorize
to take such action, draw such papers, and prepare all papers such as will be necessary to
Ims obtain the title for the above described lots for said County of Pitkin as quickly as pos ible.
A bill in the amount of $110.63 from Forbush Super Service at Grand Junction, for Tire
re- troading was presented. The Clerk was instructed to write them stating that it was the
arrangement that these tires were to be re- treaded free since the former retreading on these
tires, a guaranteed job, was unsatisfactory; that the tires were to be sent to Zook Tire Co.
in Pueblo and that the County was to pay only the difference between $42.50 and the charge
made by said Zook Tire Co.
The Clerk was instructed to ite the State Highway 'apartment for four School Zone signs.
The Clerk was instructed to he regional W. P. A. Superintendent (Frank Spillane) at
Grand Junction advising that rospecting for gravel for W P A Projects would be necessary;
that several available bodies of £ravel are here but that it will need to be decided which
is the most practicable for each Project; therefore that we can't at this time give exact to =tion
thereof; but that gravel will b' furnished.
A Bill of Sale for 50 boiler tubes or flues was presented, signed by J. E. Shipman.
Billd were audited, approved and ordered paid from various funds as follows:
