The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, met at 10: o'clock A. M.,
Monday June 2, 1917, with the following members present: Clarence 0. Quam, Chairman; George
W. Smith, Commissioner; Orest A. Gerbaz, Commissioner; C. H. Darrow, County Attorney; M. M.
Neihardt, Clerk.
The minutesof the meetings held May 5, 1947 and May 19, 1947, were read and approved.
The following offers for tax sale certificates and taxes up to and including 1945
were accepted, the intent g to accept said sums in lieu of all delinquent taxes, pen-
alties and interestFer 33 and has control:
48.00 for Cert. 402 of 1910 for 1909 on Lot 16 Capitol Hill Addition (Swearengin)
15.00 for Cert 2057 of 1908 841907 on Lots 1 -8 Inc., Block 2 Riverside(Kruckenberg)
415.00 for Certs 2057 & 2171 /5f 1910 for 1909 on Lots 9 -10 -11 Bl. 2 Riverside( " )
The following offer for tax sale certificate and taxes up to and including 1945 was
received and ordered published:
4500.00 on Carts 1131- 2- 3 -4 -5 -6 of 1903 for 1902 on Merrimac, Ben Davis, Lubricator, Monitor,
Boone, Hawkeye, #5364 Woody M. D.
The motion was made• seconded and carried that the County buy steel for Bridge across
Crystal River just below hedstone at not to exceed 41,000.00 j
The following applications for Licenses to sell liquors were received: I
Application of Robert H. Collins and Walter E. Haug to operate as "Four Seasons Club"
to sell Wine, Beer and Spriituous Liquors at the Newman Bungalows on Castle Creek, near Aspen
Application of Edward F. Schelde for retail Fermented Malt Beverage (3.2 beer) in '
package at Ivanhoe Resort (Nast) above Meredith Post Office.
Motion mdde, seconded and carried to increase the wage of common laborers on the road'
and highway from 45.00 to 45.50 per day. Effective June 1, 1947.
Reports of the County Judge, Clerk of the District Court and County Clerk, for May
1947 were received.
Date set for hearing on applications for licenses June 24, provided required publicatiins
have been made.
The request of Warren J. Conner as follows was granted on due motion, second and vote
1 "I am the present owner of Lots G -H -I, Block 44, Aspen. On May 7th last, I requested a state
ment that the taxes were paid in full on the above lots from the County Treasurer. He inform :d V
me that the taxes had been paid in full on Lots H & I, but on Lot G there was one outstand-
ing C rtificate #875 Salem of 1901 for 1900. I respectfully request that you order the Treas
urer To assign the Certificate to me upon payment of his fee, so that I might clear up the t tie!'
Request granted and the County Treasurer so instructed.
In reply to the letter of Hume S. White, County Attorney for Eagle County requesting'th' :t
Pitkin County authorize Eagle County to rep$krthe bridge across the literaingxRacodittnex Roaring
Fork River on the Emma road, one -half of said briggb being in Pitkin and half in Eagle Count
at a cost of 4400.00, Pitkin County to pay half, was read. On motion the Clerk was irnatruct:d
to inform Mr. While that Pitkin County would pay half said expense up to 4200.00. 1
