April 4, 1955 with the following members present: C. 0. Quam, Chairman; Commissioners T. J. Sardy and Crest A. Gerbaz; Robert Delaney, County Attorney; Wm C. Stapleton, Clerk. The minutes of the meetings held March 7, and March 18, 1955 were read and approved. The Rerorts of the Clerk of the County Court, Clerk of the District Court, County Clerk, 'Sheriff and Service Officer were examined, approved and signed, , l Bills were audited, approved and ordered paid from the various County Funds as follows: ORDINARY FUND 3 5,945. Smith was approved as a member of the Hospital Board to replace Waddill Catchings Jr. who has resigned..----- The following advertisement For construction bids was ordered posted and published: ADVERTISEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, Court House, Aspen, Colorado, on or before the 2nd day 1 ' ;of May, 1955, at the hour of 10:00 A.M., and to be opened at the last mentioned date, such .bids to cover the total price for construction of Concrete and Steel Bridge located approx- • 41 imately 6 miles South of Carbondale, Colorado on Thompson Creek Crystal River, Highway #133 in Section 27, Twp. 8 S., R. 88 W., of 6th P.M., Pitkin County, Alternate Bids will be accepted as follows: 1. Lump Sum Bid on all Concrete work as specif ied including Labor and Material, 2. Lump sum Bid on complete structure in place, with PitkinCounty furnishing Structural . Steel, wheel guard material, Bolts, Laminated Floor, Nails, Tie Plates for same and Paint. , All bids must be accompanied by a Certified check drawn to the order of the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, for 20% of the amount bid, to guarantee that the successful bidder will qualify and enter a contract for such work in accordance with the plans '•y and specifications. Checks of unsuccessful bidders will be returned within ten (10) days after award of contract. The work to be done and materials to be furnished, and upon which bids will be received, are set forth on plans and specifications, which may be examined in the office of the Pitkin County Surveyor, Court House, Aspen, Colorado, during business hours. The successful bidder will be required to post a performance bond with approved corporate surety, and will further be required to enter contract providing for the furnishing of such materials and completion of such work within Forty days from the date that contract is awarded.
