I — Claim Deed from the Nichols conveying to the County
for a road right-of-way purposes, the property des-
cribed in the legal description provided by the
Bureau of Reclamation.
A full discussion was held, and upon motion
made and seconded, the following Resolution was
unanimously adopted:
RESOLUTION 007. P9701, I%
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Pitkin
County Commissioners, that the real pro- r+'
perty presently utili-zed by Pitkin County
for a road right-of-way as more fully des-
cribed in the minutes of this Board of
March 22, 1971, and that certain Quit Claim
Deed recorded in Book 254 at Page 269 of
the records of Pitkin County, Colorado,
be and the same hereby is vacated, pursuant
to 120-14-3 C.R.S. 1963, said vacation to
be effective upon receipt by the County of
Pitkin of good and sufficient Quit Claim
Deed from Miller Nichols and Catherine Nichols
conveying to said County of Pitkin, for a
road right-of-way, the property described
on Exhibit "A" attached to these minutes:

PRESENT: Commissioners Vagneur, Baxter, Sardy, County
Attorney Oates and Finance Officer Kleeman.
Larry Messner of the Basalt Lions Club was pre-
sent to request fun s for their su - er recreation
program. A motion w made by Co' issioner Baxter
and seconded by Sardy o suppor this program on a
per head basis based on the s :re of the budget
applicable to the childre f. om Pitkin County, this
amount not to exceed $300 dO Motion was carried.
Mr. Meisner was instruc -d to sub t a budget and a
summary of operations o the Board a the end of the
summer.

The next matter to come before the Board of County
Commissioners was the request of the United States
Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation for the
vacation by Pitkin County property deeded by Pitkin
County for a road right-of-way by Miller Nichols and
Catherine Nichols, as more fully described in the
minutes of the meeting of the Board of County Com-
missioners of Pitkin County held on March 22, 1971.
Attorney Oates explained that he had investigated
the request of the Bureau of Reclamation through Mr.
• I C. R. Zimbelman in Pueblo and was satisfied that certain
real property, which Miller Nichols and Catherine
Nichols have agreed to deed to Pitkin County would

be acceptable to the Pitkin County Surveyor and the
Bureau of Reclamation for County road purposes and
the improvements contemplated thereon by the Bureau
of Reclamation.
As outlined in the letter received by the Board
from the Bureau of Reclamation, dated December 23,
1971, the Bureau of Reclamation recommended that the
road be vacated as described in the minutes of this
Board of March 22, 1971, subject to receipt of a Quit
