SUBDIVISION MORATORIUM W . 1015
WHEREAS, county subdivision regulations are
authorized by Chapter 106-2-35 of the Colorado Revised Statutes,
1963, as amended, and
WHEREAS, subdivision regulations for Pitkin County .�
were adopted on June 6, 1966 and extended to the unincorporated
area of the county on July 6, 1970 and duly filed with the Pitkin
County Clerk and Recorder,: and
WHEREAS, subdivision regulations are necessary to
promote the health, safety and general welfare of residents and
visitors to the county and to assist orderly, efficient and inte-
grated development and the implementation of the Aspen Area Gen-
eral Plan and amendments thereto, and
WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Planning and Zoning
Commission has recognized by resolution the necessity and pur-
poses of adopting a temporary moratorium on subdivision appli-
cation and approval, and
WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Planning and Zoning
Commission has recommended and requested the Board of County
Commissioners to act immediately on issuing a moratorium,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that in order to
promote the health safety and general welfare of the people
of Pitkin County, Colorado and in order to preserve the common

good and orderly growth of said county, the Board of County Com-
missioners hereby declares that a moratorium an acceptance of

any new applications for subdivisions and on approving any
preliminary plats for subdivisions now under consideration in
the unincorporated areas of Pitkin County, Colorado for a
period of ninety (90) days from the date hereof or until said
moratorium is declared terminated by further action and reso-
lution on the part of the Board of County Commissioners of
Pitkin County, Colorado.
