�� RE: Density Reduction in
� Planned Unit Oevelopments

WHEREAS, the BOCC held a public hearing on May 8, 1978, to
' consider an amendment to Section 3.07.02 a, of the Pitkin County Land
;
� Use Code, and
WHEREAS, the amendment is necessary to conform the Planned
Unit Develapment density calcul.atiort formula to density reduction
requirements involving lands with s7opes in excess of 45Y which were
, adopted pursuant to a public hearing held on May 27, 1978, the language
of which is established in The Board of County Commissioner's Resolution
78-31, making amendments to Section 3.08,08 of the Code, and
WHEREAS, the amendment is necessary for consistency in standards
for subdivision and planned unit developments, and so that applications
are not encouraged to avoid the PUD process.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Comnissioners
that Section 3.07.02 of the Pitkin County Land Use Code be and hereby
is amended to read as follows:
3.07.02 a. Clustering of buildings and units through variation
of minimum lot area (Section 3.02j shalT be
encouraged prnvided that the density of the overall
project shall not exceed the al7owable density in
the zone district in which the PUD lies. Such
density shall be determined by dividing the net ti
area of the P.U.D, (excluding public and private
rights of way) by the minimum lot area of the
district. Density shall be further reduced by
,;:: the provisions of Section 3.08.08.
