�i�HEREAS, Sasalt Rescue, Inc. pro�vides �nbulance service to � �
�outlying Pitkin County areas; and �
WHEREAS, it is deemed desirable to have these services �
` available for citizens of Pitkin. County; and `' .
` WHEREAS, each party is authorized by statute or otherwise �
' to contract with one another. �

1. This contract shall be effective starting January l, 1978 �

2. Emergency ambulance service wili be provided to the outlying �-��

areas of Pitkin County by Basalt Rescue, Inc. ;`t

3. Basalt Rescue, Inc. agrees to maintain a minimum of one �r
(1) fully equipped and staffed ambulance which at all times shall �Y.�

be on call twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days per week.

In addition, Basalt Rescue, Inc. will provide one (1) driver and ;f
one (1) emergency medical technician at all times. Basalt Rescue,
Inc. will cause the ambulance to respond promptly to all calls for
- assistance whether from private or governmental sources.
4. Pitkin County agrees to pay Basalt Rescue, Inc. thirty
dollars ($30) toward the cost of each call made in $itkin County,
the total for calendar year 1978 not to exceed fifteen hundred
dollars ($1500.fl0�.

5. The bi.iling and payment proced�are sha21 be as follows:
A. Basalt Rescue, Inc. will submit, prior to the tenth
of each month, an accounting of services delivered
in Pitkin County during the previous month. This
will be submitted to the Human Resources Department. °

6_ Basalt Rescue, Inc. will be responsible for all client

billing and collection and fiscal records of their own organization. �
7. Basalt Rescue, Inc. shall permit Pitkin County to �!

systems, books and records, which are relevant to this Agreement. '

8. This contract may be cance�led and terminated by either �

_ party, but the party desiring to terminate or cancel must give :

written notice to the other party at least thirty (30) days prior ��.

9. By subscribing to this Agreement, the parties represent �
'i to each other that they have heretofore acquired the necessary ;`

approval and authorization to enter into this Agreement. �
