THIS AGP.EEMENT, made and entered into th9s 23 day of October � •
19 �$ , by and between the County of Pitkin, Color�do, First Party, hereinafter
referred to as the "Owner," and Fire-X Corporation, Second Party, hereinafter
referred to as the "Contractor." • .
WITNESSETH: •
Artiicle 1. STATEt�IENT OF THE WORK. The Contractor shall furnish a71 labor and .
Fire-X Corporation, Prime Crash and fire Rescue Vehicle for the Pitkin County
Airport at Aspen, Colorado in strict accordance with the Specifications for
Construction of said vehicle, including all subsequent revisions and supplements
: thereto, as prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration; and as prepared by
Sponsor and bid by said Contractor on same.
. Article 2. It is hereby agreed, that, in consideration of the faithful per-
formance of the wor4: by the Contractor> the Owner shall pay the Contractor the
, compensation due him by reason of said faithful performance of the r�ork,, and in
the amount certified by the sponsor in accordance with the provisians of this •
contract.

Article 3. It is hereby further agreed, that, at the completion of the work �
and its acceptance by the O�aner, all sums due the Contractor by reason of'his� �

faithful completion of the work, will be paid the Contractor by the Owner �
after said completion and acceptance. Final acceptance cannot be made by �
` ' the Owner until any and all proper legal advertisements have been made. �

- THE FOLL041ING items shall also be furnished, at no additional cost to Owner: �
1. One (1) spare tire and rim for C.F.R. vehicle to consist of one (1) -
size 14.00 x 20 steel disc rim, and one (1) 18.00 x 22.5, 16 ply
ti re. ,�
2. The foltowing letters shall be furnished to Doug McCoy, Airport
Manager, Aspen/Pitkin County (Sardy Field) Airport, 506 E. Main
• Aspen, Colorado 81611:
a. Manufacturer's certificate that the Allison HT 74� D '
. transmission is compatible with propelling engine. �
b. Manufacturer's letter stating that'radiator shutters are
no longer• required for this engine: I
c. Letter stating verification that this engine will reach �
maximum operating performance under adverse temperature
conditions {-20 degrees F.) in an acceptable period of
time (not to exceed two and one-half minutes). -
3. One (1) foam flusher over windshield. •
4. The excess heat from the engine shall be ducted to the water tank .
and reels.
5, .The water•tank heater shall have the capability of operating both �
on 110 volt plug-in and automaticaily off the battery system.
6. Manufacturer wiil furnish enough material (Purple K, Ansul) for
one (i) comptete total refill for system; plus total refill
Ansul AFFF 3� Foam Concentrate. �
