THIS AGREEMENT is entered into as of the first day
of January, 1979 by and between the BOARD OF COUNTX COMMISSIONERS
# OF PITKIN COUNTY and REDSTONE RESCUE.

RECITALS �

WHEREAS, Redstone Rescue has become organized to �
it
�
provide emergency medical search and rescue services and auto ;
; extrication services to people within Pitkin County in need o£ �
';.�
such services and within the limits of the Carbondale Fire .j
f '��
District. and %
WHEREAS, the Carbondale Fire District will not '�
provide search and rescue beyond the boundaries of Highway
133, and
WHEREAS, Aspen Mountain Rescue is available to pro-
vide emergency medical search and rescue services but due to
geographical barriers cannot arrive in response to an emergency �
call in the Redstone area for at least 45 minutes, and
WHEREAS, the services of Redstone Rescue would be
, �
a desired improvement over existing services, and
WHEREAS, each party is authorized by statute or
�
otherwise to contract with one another.
II.
AGREEMENT • �
1. This contract shall be effective starting Jan-
uary 1, 1979 and for the CaZendar Year 1979 and any extention or �
renewal thereof shall be re-negotiated at budget time, that is �
f
prior to September 30, 1979. �

2. Emergency medical search and rescue services �=
and auto extrication services will be provided to ail Pitkin �
County residents in need of such services who reside within the
�
limits of the Carbondale Fire District. ;�

3. Redstone Rescue shali participate in the mutual �
aid agreement with Aspen Mountain Rescue as necessary. a •

4. Redstone Rescue agrees to maintain a minimum ;
�
;�; of one (1) four wheel drive pick-up which at ail times shall be a.
��� on call twenty four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days per week. �

'�� Redstone Rescue will have available emergency equipment as spe- �
� � cified by the Pitkin County Public Safety Council. In addition, �
�T Redstone Rescue will provide one (I) driver and six (6) emergency �
�
a medicaZ technicians on cali at ali times.

�r 5. Redstone Rescue will cause the Carbondale Am- ;.

�j bulance to respond to calls ae necessary for patient transpor- �

tation. :
6. Pitkin County agrees to pay Rei3stone Rescue �
one thousand four hundred and eight dollars (�1,408) toward the
cost of these services for 1979.
7. The biliing procedure sha21 be as follows:
A. After January 1, I979 Redstone Rescue may re-
quest the full amount of £unding budgeted by
Pitkin Couhty.
B. Redstone Rescue will submit to the Pitlsin County
Human Resource Department a quarterly report of
; -
' services delivered to Pitkin County residents.
This report will include:
1. Date of services
2. Location
3. Purpose
8. Redstone Rescue shall permit Pitkin County to
review or conduct an audit of Redstone Rescue's accounting
systems, boolcs and records, which are relevant to this Agreement.
9. This contract may be cancelled and terminated �
by either party, but the party desiring to terminate or cancel �
. must give written notice to the other party at least thirty
(30) days prior to the date of canceliation.
10. By subscribing to this Agreement, the parties
represent to each other that they have heretofor acquired the �'
