I.
RCCITALS
;JHEREAS, biA1� provides musical and cultural ev2nts
for residents of Pitl�in County, and
M7HERRAS, hfAA contributes to the enrichment of lives
of Pitkin Countp residents through music education anc2 music -
appreciation, and
� 47HEREAS, the quality programs provided by MAA en-
hance the summer industry of tourism of the Pittcin County commu-
' '� niEy, and
W,H�RF.AS, each party is authorized by statute or other- �'
t.ise to contract �vith one another.
II.
AG REEAIENT
1. This contract shall be effective starting January
1, 1979 for the Calendar Year 1979 and any extention or renewal
thereof shall be re-negotiated at budget time, that is prior
- to Sept�mber 30, 1979.
2. MAA shall provide the Pitkin County community v�ith
„;�i a minimum of 8 concerts free of charge during the summer of 1974.

3. M.�A shall contribute to the cost of music lessons �
for Pitkin County students. This support shall be as follows. �
The total cost of each lesson will be '�10. Local students will �
be charged $3 per lesson and rIAA will pay an additional �;7 to�aard �
_ each lesson. �

' n. PitJcin County agrees to pay �?1 forty five hun-

dred dollars ($4500) toward the cost of these services. The
procedure for billing shall be as follotrs:

A. Following January 1, 1479 �L�A may request the

full amount budgeted by Fitkin County.
B. MAA caill sutxnit a request for payment to the
Human Resource Department.
C. The Human Resource Department will notify the
Pitl:in County Finance Department of apnropriate

D. MAA �aill submit a report to the Human Resource
Department prior to September 30, 1979. Infor-
�:
mation on this report tJill contain the following:
1. Number of Piticin County students to whom
lessons t•rere given
2, Plumber of lessons given
3. Total cost paid by students, total cost paid
l�y MAA �
4. Dates o£ free conr_erts
5. MAA shall permit Pitkin County to revie�� or con-
ductr an audit of AtAA's accounting systems, boolcs and records,
�•ihich are relevant to this [�greement.
6. This contract may be canceled or terminated by
either party, but the party desiring to terminate or cancel must
give writt�n notice to the other party at least 30 days prior to
the date of cancelation.

embel.Zish the cultural environment of PitKin County, and
,1HER�AS, Aspen Center for the Visual Arts will provide �
art education and appreciation �xperiences through th� Center
for the benefit of the County, and .
�JHEREAS, the parties �rish to establish a method of
j payment for these services.

fits to be derived herefrom, the parties hereto a9ree as follows.
a Section 1. Servir_es to be Performed
A) Aspen Center for the Visual Arts (hereto referred to as A.C.V.A.)

public.
B) A.C.V.A. �,ill provide art exposure for local school groups
and senior citiz�ns.
C) A joint library between PitY.in County LiUrazy and A.C.V.A.
conszsting of art, publications and sli�es wi11 be established. �;
. � p) A portion of A.C.V.F�. a�ill 'bc used as a project space (direct
art �xperience).
G) A.C.V.A, irill act as a resource for th� visual arts fot spe-
cifically designated educational programs in the area.

Section 2. Pavment for Services Performed � .
A) Piticin County shall pay A.C.V.A, a maximum of $1000 (One
Thousand Dollars) �or the above mentioned services. �
B) A.C.V.A. shall receive t1<<o payments of �500 each, the first
to be paid after January 1, 1979 and the second payment to be
paid after Sept�mUer 1, 1979.
C) It is the re�ponsibility of A.C.V.A. to request payment (not
to e;cceed 41000) ��ith a �rritten statement of performance of
herein noted services.
