' . t �V): r ,y;. � ... � RESOLU�ION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONEI25 OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO, ESTABLISHING CORONER'S FEES I Resolution No. 79-� �! i WIiEREAS, the Colorado statutes provide for compensation i ! = to the Coroner in the followinq manner (Section 30-2-108, C:R.S. j f 1973): � (1) In Counties of every class the coroner shall j � be allowed the sum o£ twenty-five dollars per day a � for each day actually and necessarily employed in ! making an investigation concerning the cause of � violent or sudden deaths which may occur within ° � his jurisdiction, and the sum of twenty-five dollare : per day for each day actually employed in holding ' j inquests, and the sum of twelve cents per mile � � for each mile actualZy and necessarily traveled in going to and returning from the place of investigation _,� or the place of inquest, all of which fees shall be � paid out of the county treasury. � (2) In addition to fees provided in subsection (1) r� of this section, the coroner shall receive the � same fees for summoning jurors and witnesses, and ; swearing jurors and witnesses, as are now allowed �` by law for like service. For all services per- � formed in place of the sheri£f, the coroner shall : ;� receive the same fees as are allowed to the sheriff � £or like services; and :y �� �; � WHEREAS, the electorate did, at the apecial election held '� r� � May 8, 1979, adopt the following amendment to the Pitkin County . $ ;� Home Rule Charter >E � •'t, y� The compensation and £ees to be paid to the Coroner � ;i and his deputies for the performance of their duties i " shall be established from time-to-time by the Board � of County Commissioners by formal resolution; and `;� � WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is ready to ,� # establish fees for the Pitkin County Coroner representing, in Y ?i � the Boards's view, a more equitable rate of compensation for the services performed than presently provided for by statute, � NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE�OLVED by the Board of County Commissioners ? s of Pitkin County, Colorado, that from and after the effective :; ,� date of the resolution, r 1.
