�:-� WHEREAS, the City of Aspen is in the process of obtaining a grant of

x„� easement and rights of way from the Aspen Grove Cemetary Association, more

, µ"� WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, at their regularly scheduled �

�^� meeting on July 26, 1982 did consider applications by the City of Aspen for i

G:� subdivision exett�tions for the purpose of constructing water tanks on the

' ��' Pfister and Aspen Grove properties, and

�-� WHEREAS, the Board did consider the relationship of the proposed tanks

'�-'}� to the 7ong range water system plans of the City of Aspen, including those

. 9 indicated in the Water Management Plan and the Capital Improvements Program

associated with the water bonds approved by the City's voters, and _

� WHEREAS, the Board finds that because of the following evidence presented

�� to it,that the proposed water tanks help to meet the quality needs of the

water system rather than providing additional capacity for new users because: �
� 1) The purpose of the tanks is to create redundancy in the water system ;

� so that reliable backup facilities are available in the case of a ;}.

a treatment plant or water main outage and to meet basic firefighting �

` needs of existing development east and west of Aspen. �
2) The tanks will bring the water system up to the American Water Works �. .
