COUNTY,COLORADO,GRANTING A TEMPORARX USE PERMIT TO THE �:;

U.S.FILA SKYMARATHON. .�;,

RECITALS
� ,
1. Fila USA,Inc.,and Skyrunners,hereinafter"Applicants,"have applied to the r�
Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County,Colorado,hereinafter"$oard," .
for approval of a Temporary Use Permit to hold a high altitude foot race on June '
9, 1996,pursuant to Section 3-200.30 of the Land Use Code.
2. The route of the race is from Ashcroft to the summit of Castle Peak and back
down Castle Creek Road into Aspen.
3. The Land Use Code requires that the$oard determine that the request for a permit

is necessary to hold the public event or celebration and that adequate provision
has been made for police supervision,insurance,area maintenance and public
parking.
4. The Board considered the Applicant's request ta hold a foot race at a public
meeting on May 8,1996 at which time the Board found that the ApplicanYs �
� request meets the requirements of the Land Use Code.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED 6y the Boazd that it does hereby
grant a Temporary Use Permit to the Fila SkyMarathon to hoid a foot race subject to �
the following conditions:
I) This temporary use permit is issued ro Fila SkyMarathon for a foot race. The
event wiil take ptace from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on June 9,1996.
2) The course shail be mazked with paper flags on June 8, 1996. The flags shall
be removed within an hour after the race is completed. .
3) The applicant shall post a$I0,000 bond and indemnification for the event,to
the satisfaction of the County Attorney,prior to issuance of the temporary use
permit.

4) The applicant shall provide an updated insurance certificate to the satisfaction .
of the Risk Manager prior to the issuance of the temporary use permit.

5) The applicant shall provide additiona]detai[s on the Safety and Operating -
:,'
Plan to the satisfaction of the Emergency Management Coordinator prior to
the issuance of the temporary use permit. � ; �
i 6) The applicant shall provide shuttle service for event participants to Ashcroft. �
i
7) The applicant shall adhere to all material representations made in the
, application and in the public meeting. ,.
