WHERFAS, Snowmass Skiing Gorporation has filed a speciaT review application
(undated) for a new lift serving the High Alpine area at Snowmass Ski Area, and ��

WHEREAS, Lift No. 15 is a double chairlift with a capacity of 1200 skiers ��
� per hour generally paralleling the existing lift No. 8, and
, . WHEREAS, the Pitkin County P7anning and Zoning Cor.mission considered �
said special review application at a regular meeting of the Comnission on �
• January 7, 1981, and recomnended approval of said applicati�n by motion, and

WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Board of County Cormnissioners conducted a �-

�,�� public hearing on said application at a regular meeting on Fe6ruary 23, 1981, `:

� and '+

� WHEREAS, the site of the proposed lift has been zoned AF-] by Pitkin
�
� County, and
,� WHEREAS, "ski lifts and necessary related facilities" are uses which may ;
,;.y be permitted by special review in the AF-1 zone district, and �;
WHEREAS, the Board has concluded that the proposed lift may effectively
r�
increase mountain capacity, because of the unique circumstances presently ?
existing in the area of the proposed iift, whereby the existing capacity of ;
i
lift No. 8, a double chairlift, effectively prevents the futi utiTization of
the theoretical capacity of lift No. 11, a triple chairlift. `;�

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Cottonissioners of
�£ Pitkin County, Colorado, that approval of said special review application is _
granted. �
