COUNTY COP7MISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY CONCERNING
COLLECTION F1ND DISTRIBUTION OF THE COUNTY SALES TAX

REVENUES TO MUNICIPALITIES �

WHEREAS, by Resolution tdo. 78-121, adopted October 2,
1978 and approved by the Pitkin County electorate on November 7,
1978, the Board of County Commissioners did establish a new method -
�
of distributing the County 2C sales tax among municipalities and �
to Pitkin County, and �
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 78-121 provides that the Board
of County Commissioners shall determine the share to be received �
by each municipality by November first of each year and which �
determination shall be effective on the following January first, �
� and �

� WHEREAS, Resolution No. 78-121 authorized the Board of ,;

� ' County Commissioners .to adopt, by resolution, any definitions or �
procedures concerning the col:[ection of the County sales tax funds
that may be required to implement said redistribution, and

WHEREAS, the February "Pitkin County Sales Tax Collections" �
- report of the Colorado Department of Revenue, Sales Tax Division, �
reflects primarily January sales tax collections since there is a �
`!�

one-month lag in their sales tax reporting procedures, and 'q ,
z:.
WHEREAS, clarification is needed with respect to the
actual cash flow of redistributed sales tax funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Soard of County �
Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, that the annual distribution

of the 57� total municipal share of the 24 Pitkin County sales tax to �
each municipality according to the percentage share determined by �� �
i
� November first of each year for the following year shall apply only �

to those sales tax revenues reported in the "Pitkin County Sales �
. `
Tax Collections" monthly computer reports dated February through � �
i
January of the Colorado Department of Revenue, Sales Tax Division. �
