�• SPECIAL REVIEW APPROVAL FOR THE McNAMARA HUTS

WHEREAS, Fred Braun, on behalf of the U.S. Ski Association (hereinafter �

referred to as "applicant"), has requested special review approval of his plans 4 .
to construct two new ski touring huts in the vicini.ty of the Hunter-Frying Pan -i
Wilderness Area, and
!
WHEREAS, the property is owned by the U.S. Forest Service which requires t'�€
i°.
. a special use permit for the proposed use and Section 3-3.40 of the Pitkin County ��
Land Use Code requires special review approval for "uses, activities and facilities
permitted by a special use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service", and �
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the Board of County Commissioners ``
on November 12, 1981 at which time evidence and testimony were presented with ;�.
' respect to this application. �3-
� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
� Pitkin County, Colorado, that it hereby grants special review approval for the �
proposed McNamara Ski Tour Huts, the Burnt Hole Hut and the Rocky Fork Hut,
all subject to the following conditions:
1. Vehicular access to the Burnt Hole Hut for construction purposes shall �
be limited to the month of July of 1982 to haul stoves, tools, and �
� materials for the construction of the foundation. '�,�
2. A helicopter shall be used to fly in al] precut lumber and other �
materials in addition as possible for the construction of both cabins. _

3. Subsequent to the construction period access shall be occasional and � =
• limited for recreational purposes. 3
4. A sign shall be posted in each cabin which wi_11 read "surface water must �
be boiled or treated before consumptio�". �,�
