DESIGNATING THE DUTIES OF THE PITRIN COUNTY FAIR BOARD.

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, County ;

of Pitkin, Colorado, hereinafter referred to as the "Board",
has determined it is in the best interest of the citizans ;
of Pitkin County for the County to own and operate a county ; -
fairgrounds; and

WHEREAS, the County has been assisted by numerous �

volunteer groups in operating and conducting a County Fair �

�� since 1975. including a citizen advisory board known as -4,
�the Pitkin County Fair Board pursuant to Resolution 78-74, a
� gzoup without whose activities there would have been no �

Pitkin County Fair; and � ��

WHEREAS, the Board desires to formalize and renew the �

relationship of the Pitkin County Fair Board to the Board,
in order to ensure the continuity of the Fair Board 'and
the Pitkin County Fair;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved bythe Board of County

Commissioners, County of Yitkin, State of Colorado:
THAT the Board does hereby create an advisory body

The Fair Baard shall advise the Board on matters relating _
to the acquision and operation of a Pitkin County Fair-
grounds an8 the Pitkin County Fair. The Fair Board may

also recommend the entry into certain contracts by the
Board, but the Fair Board, having no power to contract,
will itself not enter into any contract. The Fair Soard
shall coordinate the activities of the various volunteer
groups who assist the County Fair.

� THAT the Board does determine that the Fair Board
� shall consist of eleven regular voting members and one '��

� The term of inembership of the Fair Board sha11 be three (3)

_ of actual appointment, the terms of those first appointed

e on the second Tuesday of each month. Special meetings of
