� WHEREAS, according to Section 5-510 J(a)(1) of the Land Use Code, Aprii lst �
�. of each year is established as the annual date for submission of applications to �

r^�� the Planning Office for lodge development allotments, and

�=' WHEREAS, no applications were submitted to the Planning Office on April 1,
1�:;: _
t�'° 7983 for the 20 available lodge development al]otments, and
�'*�;
� WHEREAS, according to Section 5-510.7(a)(6) of the Land Use Code, "unal]ocated

�: lodge development allotments may, but need not be carried over for distribution
- � the next or any other year(s)'; and

5�`' WHEREAS, during the adoption of the Pitkin County lodge deve7opment quota

`�'��_ system by the Board of County Commissioners, it was recognized that for a viable

� ��" lodge project to be developed, it may be necessary for several years of develop-

"'� ment allotments to accumulate, and

' -,�;.: WHEREAS, the Board does recognize the importance to our resort economy of
'� continuing to develop quality lodging accommodations, provided they are developed 'u=

"� within the constraints of the adopted growth rate to ensure that the comnunity

�3�: . can affordabiy provide the necessary public facilities to serve growth.

:�: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
