During the 1970's visitorship to the Maroon Vatley azea had increased m a point where resouroe damage,
traific congestion,and aocfderu potentiiai were na acceptabie. To mY�rnize the envtronmentat impacts on
- the Valley and to sducate the iorest visitors about(west resoum.es,natural phenomena,loc�Fusfay,and
� �� partnersNps�a shuttle bus system was instituted. Three agencies have interest or respcxisib�y In the
operation. RFfA will provide public mass transponatton fram an df-Fore,st staging area to Maroon Lake in
order to reduCe ernironmentat impacts from motor vehicles�Maroon Vailey. The Forest Service and RFfA �'
wtN work cooperaWely to provide educationa!and i�terpretive kifasnation to torest visitors. Pitk'n Courny
will mairdain jurisdiction and corwol oi the roadway. �
