COLORADO, ADOPTING A FEE STROCTURE FOR THE PROCESSING
OF LAND QSE APPLICATIONS

," ` WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, � ,

- Colorado (hereinafter "BOard") , has adopted a policy of annually ��

� reviewing the Planninq Office's land use application fee structure to

bring it more into line with the increasing costs of service provision;

z�;.,x WHEREAS, the Board, in consultation with the Planning Office, has

T � determined that the current fee structure for the processinq of land
�-r `:"� use applications wntained in Resolution No. 83-135 does not accurately
�`'`� reflect the costs incurred by the County to provide the necessary i
"'�'`�' level of services associated with the Land Use Code administration �

�'_"'':`] WHEREAS, the Board desires to revise the fees for the processing
�� of such applications so as to offset 100 percent of the total costs of
`� � the Land Use Code administration function; and r'�
�;, _��1 WHBREAS, the Pitkin County Land Use Code establishes the following
� � categories of review processes with regard to land use applications:

" cover the additional costs incurred by the County when the processing

of a land use application by the Planning Office takes more time than

�:� Billings" shall occur commensurate with the additional costs incurred
�:; by the County when processing of an application takes more time than '`,

� shall refund the unused portion of the "Base Fee." �:
BE IT FOR78SR RFSOLVED by the IIoard that the following guidelines
for the administration of the fee structure hereinabove described are

� 1. Fees charged for the processing of applications which fall
into more than one category shall be cianulative, while the
� fees charged for the processing of applications within the
same category shall not be cumulative; and
� 2. "Additional Billings" will be based �olely on processing time
spent by members of the Planning Office in the processing of

' of unused hours will be made at the rate of $145.00 per hour

4. The Planning Office shall establish appropriate guidelines
- for the collection of "Additional Billings" as required; and
