AND TO THS PITRIP CODPTY LAND USE CODE

. WHERBAS, Section 2-16 of the Pitkin County Land Use Code states � '1
,;; that "it is the policy of Pitkin County to preserve the scen3c quality �
i of the County foz the benefit of its residents and the continued �
` viability of the recreation economy which is dependent upon the quality

,,'.`!� of its cural and natural setting"; and
- WHSREAS, the Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended •
1;;`.:} adoption of an exterior lighting amendment at its zegular meeting ,
��" J on Apzil 3. 1984 with its Resolution No. 89-8; and �

;�; WHBRSAS, public hearings were held before the Board of County : i
:. j Commissioners (hereinafter "Boatd") at their regular meetings on ;
� ' June 11, 1984 and July 23, 1984, at which time evidence and testimony
�.;,
1 were heard resulting in a decision by the Board to adopt such amendments.
- NOW, THEREFORS, BB IT RESOLVBD by the Board that it does hereby

j°�-;� amend Chapter 23, General Design Requirements, of the Uniform Building :��

�,.: j Code by the addition of a new Section 2313 to read as follows:
�-` � "Exterior Lighting Regulations.

;:'F::-I Section 2313. General. Except as otherwise tequited by law,
' all applicants for exterior lighting shall provide justification -
: '� for such lighting and demonstrate that the design and operation
`'� ` of such lighting will meet the Eollowing requirements.

``` '� A. Lightiag shall be baffled to provide specific directional
control toward a surface; and
B. The following maximum heiqhts and lighting intensities
