,. a WHEREAS, the Aspen Skiing Company wants to change the lift pattern r:

" at the Snowmass Ski Area by elimination of the present Lift #3 (a

�;`•'_=: � double chairlift) and replacement with Lift 83A (a triple chairlift); '

_-4 WBEREAS, this proposed lift was part of the Snowmass Ski Area

1977 Master Plan and in the same configuration on the 1983 Hiaster

WHEREAS, Lift �3A has been through all Forest Service reviews
% "� and an Environmental Assessment; and �

;��;� WAEREAS, the new lift will be placed so as to better utilize

� the existing trail network in the Sam Knob's area; and

�r � WHBREAS, no significant trail clearing is planned as part of

the realignment; and

� �� WHEREAS, no additional employees will be generated since Lift

, ;� #3 is being removed. �

� �� NOW, T9EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
•r � � of Pitkin County, Colorado, that Special Review approval is hereby
='•'•� granted for the removal of Lift S3 and installation of Lift #3A with

' � the followin9 conditions: -

�s,,� 1. Lift #3 must be removed when Lift #3A is being constructed. ��;
i 2. Any new road cuts must be closed £ollowing construction �
,� and restored to an acceptable state as determined by the
.� District Ranger's Office. �:. ,
,,,,-.� 3. Rapid revegetation of disturbed soil areas is required �- :
to minimize run-off impacts.
