PITKIN COUNTY SOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
TEMPORARILY AMENDING ARTICLE 32 OF TFIE `", '
PITKIN COUNTY AIRPORT REGULATIONS ° ': '
� TO PERMIT LIMTTED CURFEW EXEMPTIONS FOR '
� THE SNOWMASS BALIAON FESTIVAL •�:` `

�1 WHEREAS, the Snowmass Balloon Festival has requested
;Y� permission to use the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport runway for
's� balloon departures of its participants from 053o hours until U645 ' ..,
;:� hours local time on July 11, 1986; and , "
��_� WHEREAS, the request, which has been coordinated with r
,�'� the FAA, is to allow the Balloon Cross Country event to launch at
�'� the Airport for safety considerations. All balloons and equip-
�.':;�� ment will be off of the runway and will have obtained an altitude � •
;::.� ;
� f:.' ,
:.,� of 3,000 feet above the Airport by 0700 hours to permit normal , �
;� Airport opening and operations; and
WHEREAS, the Balloon Festival has made an additional
�y� request for permission to allow the departure of the Pitkin
,_<;s_�

County Air Rescue Super Cub at 0600 hours on July 11, 12 and 13,
.;,�
;•,==->� 1986. The Super Cub will be used as a safety aircraft for all
;_�� the Balloon Festival events; and
� WHEREAS, these requests are reasonable and are in the ,
best interests of the welfare of the community; �'
� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
