SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE QUESTIONS PROPOSING �`
AMENDMENTS TO THE PITKIN COUNTY HOME RULE CHARTER �l

;��i� WHEREAS, nominations Eor all County officers to be
elected at the General Eleotion may be made either by primary •

•'�� WHEREAS, petitions for nomination must be filed at �

primary election; and

� WHEREAS, assemblies of the several political parties
',� may make assembly designations of candidates £or nomination on

� WHEREAS, such county assemblies must be held not Iess '�

� than ten (10) days nor more than thirty (30) days after precinct
',j caucuses held on the Eirst Monday in April; and �'

.�::� WHEREAS, primary elections are held on the second
'�' Tuesday of August in each even nwabered year; and j
�� WHEREAS, Section 2.7.4 of the Pitkin County Home Rule �

� at least thirty (30) days prior to the county assemblies of the

` WHEREAS, in order to provide greater certainty and ;�
,/'J� specificity to the County, the date for setting such salaries
r `-'� should be keyed to the date of precinct caucuses. •'
�=��,r�•�� NOW� THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY

� COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO, that the Pollowing
.;,� question sha11 be placed on the ballot for the general election
%-'� to be held on November 4, 1986:
Shall the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter '
' '� ,'.� be amended by the reenactment of Article .; �
II, Section 2.7.4, to read as follows:
The Board shall set the salaries of the
other elected County officials no later ,i.::
r,;:;:_'r: than the date for precinct caucuses as
E�"`:�' established by State statute. The sala-
-� ries of such elected officials shall not
be varied during their terin of ofEice,
r.--.Y except that the Board may increase their
salaries annually by a cost-of-living
multiple (a) if such multiple is made
' applicable to County employees generally,
� or (b) if such multiple does not exceed _
� ;` five {5�) percent.
� BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that within thirty (30) days x
