�-�, � wHBREAS, the Board of Coanty Commissioners of Pitkin County, ! `

�',; Colorado (hereinafter "Board°) has adopted a poiicy of annually
`~� reviewing the Planning Office's land use application fee struc- F:.
_� ture to bring it mote into line with the increasing costs of
service provision; and
�-;��: .

;,� WHBRBAS, the Board, in consultation with the Planning
�`�; Office, has determined that the current fee structure for the � .
;;:;.-
processing of land use applications contained in Resolution No. '
,''r;;; -
,-;, 85-135 does not accurately reflect the costs incurred by the .
,1�;`� County to provide the necessary level of services associated with
_,� the Land IIse Code administration function; and
WHSREAS, the Board desires to revise the fees for the r
;. �,;,_,�:{ processing of such applications so as to offset 100 percent of , �.;�:,•
�.� the total costs o# the Land Use Code ac3ninistration function; and
'� WHERSAS, the Pitkin County Land Use Code establishes the
�,�r Eollowing categories of review processes with regard to land use
• appl icati ons; •

;� BS IT FINALLY RSSOLVED by the Board that the following
'�� guidelines for the administration of the fee structure herein ,
above described are established: �
;i 1. Fees charged for the processing of applications which ` •
1 fall into more than one categozy shall be cumulative, `� "
ti while the fees charged for the p=ocessing of applica-
� tions within the same category shall not be cumulative;
,'�� provided that in the event that the fees which result '
froan cmnulation are found by the Planning Office to be ��..
excessive in relation to the number of hours it is
`1 anticipated to require to pzocess the application, the ;
Plannittg Office may waive the cumulation requirements.
� The Planning Office may also charge less than the ;'
number of hours identified as the base hours for an
� "japplication when it shall determine that the lesser fee '
I will cover the niunber of hours needed to process the
.; application.
2. "Additional Billings" will be based solely on proces-
R! sing time spent by members of the Planning Office in
�: the processing of an application.
, � 3. "Additional Billings" will be calculated at the rate of � '
� $85.00 per hour of Planning Office staff time whil.e •
' refunds of unused hours will be made at the rate of i �.
$145.00 per hour of time.

4. The Planning Office shall establish appropriate � '
guidelines for the collection of "Additional Billings" -�
as required. �
5. This fee structure shall be reviewed annually as part i,• >
of Pitkin County's budget hearing process and should j.
any adjustments be required, they sha11 be accomplished
by resolution of the Board, to take effect on January _ •
