� 3) Fence and Gate Placement: New fencing shall then be
placed to tfie new catt2e guard on both sides of Jack
' Gredig Lane. This fencing has been purchased by the •
county so the contractor will only be responsible for �
the labor of installation. The existing gate located 'i;;;,,
at the cattle guard must be relocated to the new

i ment, the contractor must purchase and install new �1-''
f eight (8) inch diameter steel posts at the new cattle
; guard to place the gate on. These steel

The work outlined above must be scheduled by the contractor to
'� . begin on or after September 8, 1986 and be completed by Deceffiber ��,.�:�'
`-� 31, 1986. Regardless of when the work takes place, the dollar _
`� amount of the contract will not change. Although the a6ove
mentioned time period �ust be followed, the exact timing of the
project will be determined by the contractor. For example, the �

coastruction shall be designed in conformance to �
Colorado Department of Highways specifications, which f
` ' are attached to this document as Figure 3. The
foundation will be made to fit a twenty-eight (28) foot
wide cattle guard grill, will require approximately 8 ;
.� cubic yarda of concrete and 550 pounda of reinforced �' .
steel. The contractor will be required to cast the
� fouadation, in place, at the aite. The gate for the e'� '
guard will be removed from the old cattle guard.
� Placement of this gate will be discuased under Fence
''� and Gate Placement. Material removed from the roadbed �
Yi; will be atored at the site for later use in filling the ;
'_� old cattle guard foundation.

� a) Bquipment/Materials Needed: A backhoe will be

4�`�� b) Sati�ated Man-hours Required: 4 men for 1.5 days
or 48 man-houre.

2) Removal of 8xiating Cattle Guard: This aection of the
;;�,� work will consist oY renoving the existing cattle guard �
' at the intersection of State Highway 82 and 3ack (iredig
` '";;i 7,ane. The cattle guard grill end all sections of the
Youndation, with the exception of the downhill side, , '
will be removed from the road and placed at the solid .
` ! waete center. Placement of this material at the
�;; landfill is possible at no charge to the contractor.
�" The contractor will then fill area of the exieting
�`=.� cattle guard with material excavated from the instel- 'i.' -
. lation of the new cattle guard. This material ehall be `
'j deposited and spread, without particle segregation, in ?
,i loose layera qot to exceed six (6) inches in depth.
Each layer ehall be thoroughly and individually
compacted to 95X. After compacting the fill material, -
I four (4) inches of road base will be placed. This road
base will be made up of Clasa 5 and Clasa 6 materiel � 'x
` and shall he deposited without particle segregation in
loose layera and compacted to 95X �� ,
a) Squipment/Materials Needed: A backhoe and �
_ compactor for placing the fill and road base

E. Prohibited Conflict of Interest. No official, officer, j.,

C. Termination Procedure. After receipt of the notice of termi-

D. Termination Payment. After receipt of a notfce of termina- •

i; tractor shal2 submit to the County his termination claim in
� the form of a final invoice in accordance with the provisions •
:� - in "Method of Payment," inaluding costs incurred to the date
� of termination, and costs incurred because oP termination,
which termination costs sha11 not exceed 10� of the total �
� • amount of proposal: provided, however, that in the event of
.� default by the Consultant/Contractor, no extra costs incurred
because of termination shall be paid to the Consultant/COn- �
� r'� tractor and any costs paid shall not be a waiver of any '
'' claim, counterclaim or set-off by the County against the "
Consultant/Contractor on account of any default. Such claim `y
::� must be submitted promptly, but in no event later than thirty
'� j30) days from the effective date of termination, unless one

F. Remedies. The Consu2tant/COntractor shall have the rfght of
