WHEREAS, the Colorado Department of Highways, using funds
made available by the Federa] government, has allocated the sum ^�;;�

of $ 209,600 as the 80� share of the replacement of the bridge `��

over Maroon �reek, a County bridge, across Maroon Creek in Pitkin � � '

County, Colorado; and 7� �

� WHEREAS, the 8oard of County Commissioners of Pitkin County,
which has the statutory responsibility to maintain County roads
and bridges, has determined that it is in the best interests of
the residents and visitors to Piticin County to accept these funds
and replace the bridge over Maroon Creek; and
WHEREAS, as a condition of local acceptance of these funds,
the County is required to provide a 20� share of the replacement
costs and to enter into a contract with the State setting out the
terms, conditions and limitations of the grant of funds; and
WHEREAS, the County has the statutory authority pursuant to,
inter alia, 1973 C.R.S. 43-2-207, 43-2-208 and 43-2-144, to

contract with the State for the acceptance of funds for the S
