WHEREAS, a work session was held to review the commun- f:;.�'.
ications technician function, and �,r�ti
.�, WHEREAS, the need exists for the continuation of quick � r'.

_ WHEREAS, the BOCC requests the CommUnications Technician i
function be evaluated to detezmine if it's operational costs
can be reduce@ over time since the BOCC is concerned about
increased long-range County operating expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Pitkin County Boazd
of Commissioners that the Communications technician be continued,
and revenue sought through providing service contzacts to other
Public Safety agencies. Specific goals to accomplish this
include:
I) County sezvice description and pezfo=mance standards will be
; defined for dual purposes; •
1) To evaluate the effectiveness of the County employed
technician.
2) To determine if a service contract can be created for the
tasks cuzrently pezformed by the communication technician.

11) Full costing of the communications technician function shall
be determined and include operating and amortized capital '�
expenses. ,�
111) Revenue generation would be undertaken to subsidize the cost _` �
