RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD
OF COUNITY COMMI5SIONERS OF PITRIN COUI3TY, CALORADO
SUPPORTING SHAN RUCSNSRI, JIM LOAWIG AND JEANIQIE BASCOM
IN TEiE US-USSR PEACE WALK ` -
JUNE 14 TfiROUGH JULY 8, 1987 9i".'
� RESOLUTION NO. 29 �;� -

WHEREAS, the first US-USSR Peace Walk will be held June 14th
thxough July 8th from Leningrad to Moscow; and
WHEREAS, the Peace Walk will 6e composed of at least 20U �
.`-� walkers representing the USA and 200 walkecs representing the �;..
. � USSR; and �
s��=� WAEREAS, the purpose of this walk is the ending of the US- ;.
USSR arms race and the betterment of US-USSR civilian and
'` �` diplomatic relations; and .

;��~;: WHEREAS, Pitikin County desires to be represented by walkers
,,,.Y,� from Pitkin County; and
�'-a WHEREAS, Shan Rucinski, Jim Ludwig and Jeannie Bascom will ,
::;w?>;�, be some of the 200 walkers repcesenting the USA; and
;..:�.�
•�g::;_� WHEREAS, Shan Rucinski, Jim Ludwig and Jeannie Bascom are
� residents of Pitkin County; and ?
.,%±:� WHEREAS, Shan Rucinksi's, Jim Ludwig's and Jeannie Bascom's
commitment to endinq the nucleac arms race is evident from their
�=M'-�� past participation in disarmament demonstrations and their
,;.� ongoing commitment to nuclear disarmament;
;;� NOW Tf3EREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Y1�e Pitkin County Soard of '
,°.;� County Commissioners supports Shan Rucinski's, Jim Ludwig's and
Jeannie Bascom's participation in the US-USSR Peace walk.
