I Resolution No. 87-�Q_ � a c � :
WHSRRAS, The Board of County Commissioners is required to divide -
the county into precincts for the convenience of the electors and
=;� the precincts shall be numbered consecutively pursuant to C.R.S. �
1-6-101(1) (a), and "' '
:� WHEREAS, after June 1� 1987 precinct boundaries shall remain in �, '
-;:x effect until after the General Election in 1990, and � .
��� WHEREAS, there are currently 32 reqistered voters in precinct 12 ���
'° which includes the Meredith/Thomasville area, and '
-.'� WHSRBAS, there have been a lack of judges to work in that �
s::�
,.� precinct on election day foz the past two elections, and
�
.� WHERBAS, precinct 11 cutrently has 395 registered voters and ,
;:.;� enlarging precinct 11 to include precinct 12 will still keep
precinct 11 well below one thousand (1000) registered voters
.�;� which is the maximum number there can be in any precinct in a
county that has electronic voting equipment, and
:.� WHEREAS, 'letters were sent to all reqistered voters in precinct
12 and there were only positive responses about the change, and
�..i,
WHEREAS, the Colorado General Assembly amended C.R.S. 1-6-101 in
c'sQ 1983, directinq Boards of County Commissionezs to establish
,� precinct boundaries which shall take into consideration natural
and man-made boundaries that meet the requirements of the U.S.
*� Bureau of the Census, and ;
-'� WHBREAS, the U.S. Bureau of the Census has approved these �:, �
proposed Pitkin County precinct boundary changes and has already ,
made changes on their maps, �:
:; N(1W, THEREFORE. BE IT RSSOLVSD, that precinct 11 be enlarged to '
� include precinct 12, by cutting through a small, uninhabited {
� portion of precinct 8; that the boundaries of precinct 15 not be �
changed at all but that precinct 15 be renumbered to 12; and that
i all precinct boundaries in Pitkin County, Colorado, shall be � ;
� zevised and changed as detined in the maps and legal descriptions �,.=:
attached hereto as Exhibit "A" ,4:t;'
